I understand these Kick Off times are dictated by the TV networks but if the NCAA and the Big Ten front office were really as all about looking out for the student athletes as they pretend to be they’d come together and pass some legislation that didn’t allow any August or September start times before 7pm… 

The fans are going to suffer a little on Saturday but it won’t even be close to what the players will be experiencing; with temperatures approaching 120 + degrees at field level…

I know the sidelines have some small degree of shade, along with cooling fans and cold drinks available but even with all that…, if a guy is stuck wearing all the gear of his football uniform it’s still really tough to cool off once they’ve become overheated from their on field efforts…

In my opinion, scheduling games at the hottest time of the day whenever the temperature is above 82 degrees is putting the players in a dangerous situation and should never be allowed by the Conference or the NCAA… 

Even the United States Marine Corps “black flag” most activities when the temperature reaches 90 degrees… We wouldn’t even allow animals to be put out on that field in those temperatures (120+) for 4 hours… The Big Ten and the NCAA allowing this is unconscionable in my opinion…

@76-1 They are going to be starting the season EVEN earlier next year, so clearly they do not care about the heat. It'd be nice to have a 7pm start time, but that's not the current landscape.
