"I feel like one of the young guys that is having a spectacular time is Labron Bond", said RB Roman Hemby. "He's really doing well. I've been seeing him catch the ball, make a lot of spectacular catches."
"He will be good" Sarratt said in the spring. "As a freshman, he makes minor mistakes, but I tell him to play fast. If he does, everything else will fall into place. He'll pick it up soon."
Rated as a 4* recruit by ESPN, the Norfolk Va. native led the Hoosiers in receiving during the spring game, catching 4 passes for 29 yds. & a TD.
"It's really important to him--FB," Cignetti said. "He has picked up where he left off in the spring & gotten better. Still need to see a little bit more consistency, but he is in a position to help us this fall."
Sounds great. If the New INDIANA is going to be the new "Quarterback U." then we need to also be known for getting receivers ready for the next level.
BEAT PURDUE
Right, one begets the other.
Im still not sold on him playing significant snaps outside of special teams as a true freshman. The room is just so deep. Traits wise, he seems to be pretty similar to Cooper to me
Rico called it a several months back. He does in depth scouting of high school players:
That's awesome!

reminds me more of ARE than Cooper
@hoosierdaddy He’s a true slot guy. More in the mold of Keyshawn Williams and Myles Price than Cooper.
He’s only listed at 5’9. Omar has a lot better size but not near the same shiftiness.
I wonder if he has any interests in running back kicks or punts?? He certainly could show off his "flash" in that roll.
BEAT PURDUE
Right, he did in H.S.
@irregulars yes, it would be super to see a guy that can take it to the house at any time back there.

I know we are looking at some guys for the slot, but he is electric with the ball in his hands. If he is playing as good as advertised, I can see him nicely sliding into that rotation.
@yothn Cig has not been averse to using freshmen if they can handle it. We may see him worked in slowly though.
I see Labron & Byron as starters by the Ill. game.
The last true freshman I can recall for is that had the ability to impact the return game was Jaylin Lucas. He did it for 1 season and was selected as a 1st team All American as a specialist. Then…..he fell off the map and now is a 2nd string KR at Florida State.
