Will probably move a bit next week, but seeing IU favored by 22.5 with a total of 54.5 for the opener.
Feels about right to me? I also think the offense will play better than the defense in the opener.
Thoughts?
I think this team is ready to send a message and that starts in week one.
FWIW the line was 23.5 two weeks ago, so it's moved a little bit since.
I have no idea -- ODU is okay and I don't know how rusty we will be. Frankly I look to the betting lines as my primary indicator.
But, it 22.5 seems reasonable. It would be cool if we played great and covered by a lot.
I don’t bet but some people made a lot of money last year betting the over on IU each game.
the defense is normally the side that gels first, with a mentality of "see ball, get ball" that's the least complicated to install. You could be correct, we'll see. Will probably move a bit next week, but seeing IU favored by 22.5 with a total of 54.5 for the opener.

BEAT PURDUE
Outside of basic stuff, INDIANA may not show the full offensive & defensive packages until game 4. I take wins anytime.
People need to remember, Old Dominion played AT South Carolina in week one last year and ODU was up by 3 pts with 6 mins left in the 4th quarter. South Carolina was on the CFP bubble at seasons end. Our 3rd string QB, Grant Wilson, was the starter for ODU that game. I know the team will be ready and we should win big, but ODU is not to be taken lightly.
I think we need to win by that much as to not be dismissed by the pundits and lower in the rankings
@walt542 IU to make playoffs last year is one of the favorite bets of my life. Pre-season it was +100,000 to +150,000, after the UCLA game it was +30,000. I believe it was the bet that cost sportsbooks the most last year from CFB
This year we are opening at +650 to make the playoffs. Welcome to the C1G 10 era

I wish I would have saved what it ended up being, but I bet IU to win the Natty last year pre-season for like $25. I honestly can't remember what it was, but I want to say I was able to cash out of it for a few hundred just before the Ohio State game.
One of my better bets.
I don't partake in sports betting, so take this with a grain of salt, but taking the under might be a sneaky play. There's a big storm coming in from Florida that could hit the Indiana area come game time. If it's wet and nasty, it's hard to score points of course.

never go the under on your team. That is treason my man.
