Hope this gets read and is enjoyed...it was fun to write. Obviously, Sarratt and Cooper are awesome and I think Cooper is ready for a huge season with more volume of targets. Beyond them though, I really, really like Charlie Becker and Lebron Bond and Davion Chandler.
Our WR is tops, probably as deep as OSU.
@red-hornet Idk about that. Maybe if you don’t count Jeremiah Smith
Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
Great article. Really gets one excited about the upcoming season and the passing game and its impact on the rest of the offense. These receivers are going to cause real problems for opposing defenses. Buckle up for round 2 of the new IU football.
Sammy, receivers are only as good as when the ball gets to them. Our QB is probably as good if not better than a new inexperienced OSU QB. Interesting season, as both OSU, Michigan & Oregon have new inexperienced QBs.
@red-hornet I love IU's wide receivers and I love what Fernando Mendoza can do in this offensive system. That written, Ohio State has some ridiculous talent at the position. Jeremiah Smith is, quite possibly, the best player in the sport this season. Carnell Tate is a top ten wide receiver nationally and he's the second target. Brandon Inniss is super quick and he's third or fourth, Quincy Porter is yet another five-star freshman alien that is ready to go right away. Add in young guys like Mylan Graham and Bryson Rodgers (blue-chip recruits that are depth pieces) and it's a fantastic group.
If Julian Sayin struggles (I think he'll be fine), they can turn to Lincoln Keinholz or even another five-star freshman in Tavien St. Clair to get adequate QB play. I'd take IU's group over nearly everyone in the league with Cooper and Sarratt at top but OSU or Clemson have the best groups in the country (in my opinion).
I can't wait to see Lebron Bond play! There is a chance for the goat of two different sports to be named Lebron in our lifetime and I'm excited for that possibility

@evanalvarez8 Agree on LeBron Bond.
The other LeBron? No way! 😉
At least we can agree that Lebron Bond will be better than Lebron James will ever be!

@tjinman1987 good article TJ. Gets my blood pumping for the season to start!
EJ Williams healthy is the X factor. With him as a "3rd " receiver, defenses will be grasping at air trying to stop our passing game.
