Thanks for reading! The tight end position has changed a ton from the Allen regime to the Cignetti regime and, arguably, has become more important than ever despite seeing decreases in counting stats. Excited to see this group on the field in 2025!

really think holden staes is going to have a big year. not the blocker of horton or bomba, but the athletic tools are there to do it and he's just a much better athlete than iu's had at the position with a staff that clearly knows how to use one.

Agreed Jamie. I'm really excited to see him work. The blocking will grow too with the help of Bostad and co. He really has a chance to become a complete, NFL caliber tight end prospect and I think he'll get there.

Really good article.  Seems like there are three different types of situations this position presents, and two could be on the field at one time and add the wide receiver situation and opposing defenses are in for long afternoons.  To me it looks like the pass catching first tight end, along with the delayed release across the middle tight end would be a nightmare to try and cover, given the other options in the IU offense.  What a joy this is going to be.

Horton was a beast last year. I hope they can get that kind of fire out of one or more of these guys.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the read. Totally agree and can't wait to see them in action!
