@ge-off How? Man, I'd be shocked and disappointed if we give up 17 to NT. ODU had 2 breakaway scores and didn't get to 17. I'll be surprised if they get to 10. They have a good RB, so maybe he gets away for 1 breakaway.

Also, while Cig insists on "playing to a standard," and this game requires our full focus, the weather may be a factor. Oppressively hot conditions may warrant rotating more guys in than usual. Not an "emptying the bench" per se, but I think a lot of guys (further down the chart) will play.

If I were betting this game, I'd bet UNT to beat the spread.
Texas like weather. Cig's first two openers had his teams stuck in 2nd gear for most of those games. Hoover's first game at IU. I suspect we'll see a healthy helping of Martin, Beebee, and Richard... which could eat some more clock, extend possessions a little more, keep the score a little closer.

Yeah, I don't see our defense allowing much of anything. I'll give them two FGs.

@unclemark Yeah, our offense may not be on track in the first game, but man, I don't think folks are thinking this through enough. If we're a bit "off" imagine how it will be for a team with 70, SEVENTY, new players and a new staff. I'm expecting this being year 3 that there will be more guys in tune with what the staff is expecting and don't think we'll look quite as rusty. And, even if we do, UNT is likely to be "rustier"! I think we'll keep this one in check better than last year and win comfortably. I'm thinking something in the range of 45-6.
