1) Cig won’t have any trouble getting these guys recalibrated and refocused on doing the little things right from here on out…
2) In my opinion, That was the Big Ten Championship Game. The titled one will be in Indianapolis in December with most likely UCLA losing by 3 touchdowns to O-H-I-O $tate but the real one was played yesterday.
The good news there is that we don’t have to risk injury and can get ready for our at Home Playoff Game (“if” we take care of business from here on out)…
3) If our QB is indeed Injured we have a full six weeks for him to recover and to get his backups up to full speed (giving us some serious depth at QB entering the Playoffs)
4) The TEAM now Knows that they can beat any other team in the country If they play a clean game (and possibly lose to the rest of our schedule if they don’t)…
5) If things play out the way it looks like they will we should be in line for a Home field Playoff game (as mentioned above but worth mentioning twice… Is there a possible ND rematch on the horizon???)
All good points. i don't usually take these Kalshi things seriously, but IU's CFP odds did increase after yesterday. The Big Ten race will certainly be interesting.
As far as an ND rematch, they have to make it first. Although they should be inside the top 12 even going 10-2
Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
OSU has a pretty tough remaining schedule and now that Sayin is out, you never know what their future holds. I was really hoping Nebraska beat Oregon last night so the Huskers could get a 2nd chance at reclaiming their glory at home vs OSU in a few weeks. The loss probably takes a lot wind out of their sails.
@76-1 If our quarterback is indeed injured? Is this a real possibility? I thought he looked completely fine when he came back into the game yesterday.
Somebody speculated that the misfires where he misses easy throw by yards, mostly sailing them, was because of a lingering injury.
Even though he has done that since the beginning of the season and nearly every game. But, that's the rumor somebody put out there.
He clearly got hurt in the game though. But once he got back in, he looked better than earlier. Hopefully the game injury heals up quickly. He looked fine.
IU has had issues all year long that haven’t been fixed. Not sure why they would be now. Michigan will be a very difficult game given how inconsistent the offense has been.
@iugradman What were you complaining about last year? I can’t remember but I’m sure it was something.
I'm surprised none of you guys have mentioned how good our much maligned secondary played. The great Smith, future Heisman winner, 63 yds and one TD was not a Heisman effort IMHO. I know it was the winning TD, but that was less than 1/3 of his season game average by yards.
BEAT PURDUE
Not that I think Hoover is going to miss any time from his injury Saturday, but brother, if you think we're going unbeaten over the next 6 weeks with Grant Wilson or Tyler Cherry at QB, then I've got some ocean front property for you down near Bedford.
@gros-louis If we were running the ball better, I might disagree with you. But we're not, so we're going to need someone to throw us to some wins in the more difficult games. No way of knowing if either Wilson or Cherry are capable of that, so to expect it is difficult...
Its not a bad loss but it stinks in that it was so winnable and now the game at michigan is basically a must win I would think. If we lost that cour chances at the BTT game are likely gone.

You think we are winning at michigan with a backup QB? That would be very tough.
The pregame prognosticators were suggesting that there was a mismatch in talent that would decide things. That was wrong. We held our own on both lines of scrimmage. They had to play 4 downs to even score, as both TDs were on 4th down. We just made some uncharacteristic mistakes and maybe started the game wound up a bit too tight (especially Hoover). Smith is an amazing player, for sure, but Becker isn't far behind (if any).
If there is a rematch, I think we will execute up to our normal high standards, which didn't happen on Saturday.
