So a little part of me would prefer to be the 5 seed. Get a home playoff game against a Boise State type and have a chip on our shoulder for being underrated again.
I would love to be able to attend a home game in the playoffs but you can bet I’m going to any bowl game they land in. Would I love to see a bye? Yeah I guess so.
4 or 5 seed is the best path imo. 4 seed with the 1st round bye gets the winner of 5 vs 12. 4 seed will be a neutral site game. So, won’t get an extra home game if we get the bye which is fine by me. Especially if it’s on the heels of an outright B1G championship.( Jim Mora voice)

I just want Bama.
@kelly_32 I live in Alabama. Man I'd love to shut up some of my friends down here! So yeah, I'd love to see us play the Tide.
I want Penn State's draw from last year. That was ridiculous, 6th seed getting such a weak bracket.
I know they changed it, but I still wouldn't mind a home game first round against whoever is still rated from the weaker conferences. Memphis, South Florida, whoever. From the SEC not sure, maybe Ole Miss.

Give me a 1 seed. That way you get the winner of the 8/9 game in the Rose Bowl for a trip to the semi-finals. Plus, you would get the 4 seed (most likely) in that semi-final Peach Bowl.
One seed means B1G Ten Champs. Yeah, let's get that one!
That two seed looks pretty fun.
The path to a title is simple...
1. Run the table in the regular season
2. Beat OSU for the B1G Championship
3. #1 seed and 1st Round bye in CFP
4. Beat 8 seed Georgia in Quarterfinals
5. Beat 4 seed OSU (again) in Semifinals
6. Beat 2 seed Alabama in the CFP Championship Game
The math works.

Could you imagine beating Ohio State twice in the same season?

I get the concern but man, did you take a look at the OSU vs Illinois box score? Illinois actually outgained OSU by 23 yards. OSU only rushed for 106 yds on 37 attempts vs Illinois.....2.9ypc. The 18pt margin OSU won by over Illinois is 5 TD's less than IU did....FIVE. And we pulled our starters early. If for one second you think thats because they weren't passing late or pulled their starters out early, Julian Sayin hit Jeremiah Smith for a TD in the 4th Q. They were still in at least midway through the 4th. Illinois even had 3 turnovers to OSU's 0.
My point is. OSU has a good defense but statistics in the H2H comparison shows we have a better one. When it comes to the offense, they aren't close to what IU is at this point so far.
I would venture to even say, I think OSU is behind Oregon.
@kelly_32 I think OSU might be in a class of its own, especially the defense. But IU isn't far behind ... if indeed they are behind.
In Cig's inaugural season, IU was historical ... but they weren't quite ready to hang with big boys like OSU and ND. Honestly, I think making the CFP was their ceiling. But this team is a legit National Championship contender--IU is no longer the little engine that could (as many experts believed until the Oregon game).
Un-f***ing-believable. I haven't been this excited about IU sports since probably the early-to-mid 90s when IU hoops had the likes of Bailey, Cheaney, Henderson, Evans, the Grahams, et al.

I think we are solidly behind Ohio State, and maybe an SEC team or two. Georgia, 'Bama.
Only due to depth of athletes. Those teams can suffer an injury and roll out another guy. We can at some spots, not others. But we seem to have better top line and depth over last year. And the way the team plays, if we're healthy, we can beat those teams. For us it's about every area clicking as a team.
But I think we'd be underdogs for good reason to OSU, they won it all last year and just reloaded.
Would be so awesome if the team can take care of business the rest of the regular season. Absolutely amazing if so. Some teams that can jump up in any one game and beat us.
What worries me this week is Cig stressing how physical the Oregon game was. Then Urban Meyer on his recap of it was saying the game was very physical. I hope we don't suffer a letdown. Physical games can lead to both physical and mental fatigue. Iowa was physical, Oregon was physical. No bye weeks for awhile...
If the season falls in line as I hope, I'm going to the B1G Championship and the quarterfinal. If we don't get a bye, hope like hell we get a winnable home game and win the damn thing. Don't think I can swing 3 games in such a short time.
We were in South Bend last year and even with the loss it was an amazing day.
I'm waiting until after the PSU game to get tix for Lucas Oil. We ain't losing to Wisconsin or Purdue.
Does anyone know how the seeds work for the quarterfinal sites? I assume it has to do with the top 4 seeds and conference affiliation? My personal order of preference is Rose, Cotton, Orange, Sugar.
