@mushroomgod I talked to Jeremy Gray last night about it. There was one for that game, but nothing on the web. It was a Fred Glass idea. I do not know the condition of the tracks or whatever, but a game day train would be better than a bus and you can run multiple times a game day.
think bigger. I'd explain how it works but too hard on a message board. You're not in the development business I see.

Yeah, and you're apparently not in the local area where now that the state of Indiana has changed the property tax laws and there is serious concern about Bloomington falling well short of the amount needed to properly run schools and other aspects of the local government, you're not going to wipe out Varsity Villas and lose all of that additional property tax revenue so that you can park cars for 7-8x a year.
And again, there's no shortage of available parking, it's just not within a 5 minute walk to the stadium like people have been spoiled by for years because there wasn't enough demand to push parking further out.
I do live in Indiana. Well aware. My daughter is a teacher in Indiana. Creativity my friend. See it happen everyday.

I look forward to your presentation to the athletic department. Start with Jeremy Gray. You need his info?
Multi use co-op development. Tear down villas from front to back. Give permit to build 2-3 multi unit buildings in back area of where villas are.. multi story buildings .. villas are essentially 2 stories but occupied by one group of 3-5-6 people per unit. Except the tall apartment building in back. I'm not sure what Bloomington's height limit is for structures. 5/6 stories ? Furnish with a parking garage multi story for those buildings. Then the front half of villas could be developed into a parking lot coded for multiuse. Gamedays or whenever university needs it , it's theirs .. other days it's city use. Could be rented out for anything. Part of it could be a small park. See funding grants requires knowledge of how they are approved.
No one wants to be splintered from the game day action and park 10 minutes away if they don't have to.
there is land behind gamma phi and phi Delt. If they don't own it they should. Make a lot there. I'm sure there are more places that could be of use. The university gave up on housing themselves 20 years ago. It's all REITS now.

Are you just kicking people that live there out of their parking spots on game days?
Apartments are limited to 6 stories and the apartments across Dunn are that level now and have parking garages for the people that live there, but not even enough spaces for everyone who lives there to have a vehicle parked there. They have to park extra vehicles in the White lot at the stadium.

Btw, do we even know if parking has been maxed out in the areas around the stadium that already exist? I don't know one way or the other. I think people (rightfully so) could be balking at paying $50 to park and those spots aren't even sold out on gameday.

A new parking option this year?
I was hoping IU Sports Properties had sold a sponsorship to Toyota for that lot, but alas, that's just what the field is called.
btw, I don't think this was available last week. I think it's new this week.
@gros-louis I believe parking is sold out for the season.
Reserved parking is sold out for the season. But some lots (gameday lots) are only available day of game. Those are the ones that I am wondering if they're at capacity or not. And I misunderstood the new lot availability...went with some 2nd hand info, so if that was available last week, I was wrong.
