IIRC Tennessee didn’t beat a single team with a winning record this year.
Neither did Missouri, both end with 5 losses. Both were essentially ranked ALL year long and considered part of the "gauntlet" SEC schedule.
Its pure media hype and smoke and mirrors. Most over-rated conference of all time.
@surjay A&M was another pretender. Beat ND by 1 early in the season and then didn't beat any team with a pulse. After ND, it's hard to gauge their next best win: LSU blowout? MO without their starting QB? I like the response from one of the podcasters I watch occasionally regarding the SEC's bowl performances: "The SEC, it just means more.... excuses!"

Wife's close relative married into a UT family, so we are subjected to their sports programs much more than I would like over the years. I discovered early on though, when watching a Tennessee game at a watch party they hosted and hearing Rocky Top for what seemed to be the millionth time, that substituting the words "floppy cock" for rocky top made the tune much more entertaining. Not for them mind you, but $$$ for me.

LOL. I went to run an errand with 1:44 to go in the half with Vandy ball and 7-3 score.
Half was over but the Vandy punter decided to run the ball, cross the line and kick it anyway resulting in a turnover for no apparent reason at all deep in their own territory. Iowa immediately tosses in a dime for a TD.
