The line this morning is OSU -5.5. O/U is 48.5.
My spin on scenarios: Ohio State obviously stays at 1 with a win, regardless of the score. IU moves to 1 with a win. 1/2 ranking remains the same if IU loses a hard-fought, competitive game. Either team potentially drops with a lopsided loss but retains the first round bye.
The outcomes of the Georgia (vs. Alabama) and Texas Tech (vs. BYU) conference championship games (those are the two teams breathing down our necks) also clearly factor into the final rankings.
I do not see any scenario where a team not playing this weekend jumps us.
I’d agree.
Our Oregon win was so darn good for our resume… what a game that was.
Unless they drop Oregon it’s hard to see us falling below 4 with a loss to OSU unless it is by a massive margin, because with only 1 loss they have to compare us head to head with Oregon which will likely be sitting at #5 after A&M drops probably to 6. With an IU loss I see the top 4 as Osu, UGA (Assuming they win), IU, Tx Tech (with win). IU winning would probably put OSU at 2 and GA/TT at 3 & 4 respectively.
We are beating OSU, I think they put them at 2. They might slip to 3 depending on how other CCGs go, and by how bad we beat them
After having watched Sayin's mobility, I am confident that if we can apply similar pressure as we did in the Oregon game that it wont be close. He has a little faster release than Moore, but he also has zero escapability. Great opportunity for Kamara and Daly to improve their draft stock
@tammany Definitely! That win did so much for us, including giving us a bit of a cushion now when it really matters.
How is Oregon not ranked #3? Their only loss is to us, the #2 ranked team.
Georgia's only loss? To an Alabama team who got spanked by a 5-7 team.
The line has crept down to IU +4.5.
Better than going the other way!
@esalum86 Are you not familiar with the term "SEC bias"? It's a real thing. Fed by the PR machine that is ESPN.

Politics. Top three teams in B1G. SEC and ESPN will lose their minds.

Great post.
Most would power rank Miami and Notre Dame inside the top 10 best teams at seasons end so if they are on the outside of the CFP final bracket, then it only makes the pathway to the Indiana Jan 23 win easier.
