This is almost overstimulating! ( not in that way, guys). At the same time, we have preparation for the biggest game in our history. And then we have the portal excitement, getting ready for next year’s team. I really don’t have time right now to waste spending all my time online. But here I am….
It's official- Chiddi Obiazor, DE, 6-6 255 has committed

Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
@jackskip23 I assume he would stay. The staff loves him. They needed a transfer QB anyway. However, any decision looks like it’ll be made after the Peach Bowl (that’s a total guess).
With no second portal window, I think if he was leaving, he would have jumped in by now.
This late in the game, there's not going to be many situations for him that would be better then what he has here.
Cig might throw more money at Alberto to get him to stay.
@zeke4ahs Then imagine Oregon's dilemma going through this same ringer, plus having your OC and DC with a foot out the door and worrying about their new schools portal transfer interests! I would guess that will be a big distraction for them on top of worrying about their own portal activities, oh yeah, and getting ready for IU. It's not ideal for us, but damn, gotta be a major distraction for our opponent.
@thehoosierhuddle He started it!
Not sure what we are talking about but they're all guilty...off with their heads
Maybe it's sour grapes but Texas forums sure were annoyed with Livingstone portaling. Said he put out a tweet 'beyond his control' (? I dont know, jsut reading their forums) and they said the beyond control is he was offered a substantial mid 6 figure deal and his agent thinks it should be more, as in closer to 7 figures... And their forums say he would just be 'in the mix' and Texas wouldn't pay that unless he was 'the guy'.
I know Cig and staff will determine character, fit, money. But, still, I don't like the sound of that...
I'm actually more worried we keep current important guys such as Becker very happy with their deals. Culture can go south if newcomers get more bling than the soldiers.
chiddi is a beast and a huge add for iu. 6'6, 275 and athletic. fits the SDE spot for iu perfectly. he and burnham with tobi and ndukwe on the other side is going to be a fun group of DE's to watch next year.
@openwheel I don’t know. Cal fans were trashing Fernando. And I get why they weren’t happy. Turned out fine though.
Our retention has been very good. Hopefully it continues. I suspect Charlie is pretty pleased with his development and role this year…
Yeah, very true on Fernando. 'Bailing on his teammates' and all sorts of catcalls toward him. He turned out to fit in as a character guy.@openwheel I don’t know. Cal fans were trashing Fernando. And I get why they weren’t happy. Turned out fine though.

I hope Charlie is happy. But now everybody knows he's a stud... Agent probably gets calls (nobody would tamper, I know...) and has to sort thru real numbers from the BS.

they're recruiting over him is his issue. he had a really good year and they were like, "we don't know if you're worth it, we're going to bring in other guys". that's what's "beyond his control".
my brother is an iu grad who's lived in austin for a decade and goes to texas games all the time. he was shocked about livingstone and deandre moore leaving given their production but they're big game hunting and those guys apparently felt like they weren't priorities...and they clearly aren't. it makes sense to see what else is out there.
edit: count me as a guy who would LOVE to add livingstone and i have no doubts about his character. no chance he's brought in if that was in question...maybe with other staffs, but not this one.
He'd only be one of the guys here as well. 'Earned, not given'.
But agreed on his ability. I barely watched any highlights, but a good player.
