Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoover!!!
"NEWS: Former TCU quarterback Josh Hoover has committed to Indiana, per ESPN sources. He visited over the weekend and projects as the starting quarterback in 2026 if Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza goes to the NFL Draft, as expected."
Will Alberto stick around to challenge Hoover?
Seems unlikely, but players have left and returned before. Alberto could transfer to a G5 or lesser P4 gig, tear it up for a year and then return--if it makes sense for both sides.
The Mendozas are unlikely to be permanently grumpy. Fernando's about to be a multi millionaire.
With Hoover only having one year, I suppose AF could stick around and hope to get the QB1 spot in 2027. But if that didn't happen then, he'd have to bail early to be able to play somewhere else.
Tough business.

We recruited him out of high school, i believe.
Lots of Cincy fans on Reddit saying, hmm, didnt seem that great... And then a Cincy fan replied- our entire secondary was ass, he was one of our better ones, see what he can do with coaching. LOL
Said he hits well above his size.

He's still a take if he wants to come.
Its almost as if Indiana did something in football that got recruits attention.

Our outgoing guys (at this point) have done little to nothing on the field, while the incoming group have a shit ton of production. As much as I hate the state of CFB recruiting, that's a nice way to instantly upgrade.
@boogie Hmmmm...I think with Martin, Beebe, Turbo, and Cuono, we should be good. Unless Beebe won't be available.
The portal outgoing of course. We are losing a ton of production. Our outgoing guys (at this point) have done little to nothing on the field, while the incoming group have a shit ton of production. As much as I hate the state of CFB recruiting, that's a nice way to instantly upgrade.
This is a sweet start to portal season!
@iugradman this all depends on what’s important to Marsh, obviously. But let’s not let the Utopian run we’re on right now blind us from reality. Notre Dame has more of just about everything, than IU. Money, facilities, exposure, profile, history, NFL ties and connections. IU has a better football team, plays in B10, and might have a staff Marsh ends up liking better? I’ll be surprised if Marshs hot buttons aren’t pushed by the many advantages ND does still have over IU.
btown and campus are far superior to nd/south bend
SB is a dump
What a letdown. Is that all for today? 😆
Reddit CFB almost melting with people saying, come on Indiana, leave some for the rest of us.
