1. Hot, hot, hot is the forecast. Near 90 degrees and sunny.
This is one where IU getting off to a very fast start at the 11am local kick to allow for some 4th Q run game milking, and playing the 2s will be advantageous.
2. Feels like this is the first rematch and revenge game by an opponent in the Cig era by a team that was thoroughly embarrassed in the first matchup.
Removing Nebraska Hope early with aggressive play is a key to having a good day.
3. Supplementary to #2 above, Huskers across the board have pride, despite being known as a ladies volleyball school.
Pride on the field and in the stands can be contagious and can create and increase momentum.
4. Running QB. Can IU track down, corral, and wrap up better than what we saw against Chiles and NW?
5. National Perception.
So much shine is now off of Michigan, USC, and Washington as their teams this season Teter on the cliff of a train derailment.
One could say, this Nebraska game and Oct 17 are the only opportunities for Indiana to make a big positive impression nationally until the Big 10 Championship Game exhibition against possibly/hopefully an Oregon on a 10 game win streak.
6. Playing sharp, efficient football two weeks in a row, showing consistency, is essential to further building confidence in one another for the players.
Like an Avalanche running down the mountain.

Uhh, OR Peach Bowl last year? My, how quickly we forget or take things for granted!
I listed an intangible I found interesting, but a preview podcast from NB I was listening to, said NB is like 0-8 or 0-9 in BNK games. I don't see any real basis for that, other than it's 11am on their body clock, but those are getting to be some pretty interesting odds and moving out of the anomaly range.

In no way, shape or form do I expect our 2nd unit to be in for the 4th quarter of this game. Please share your game Intangibles, thoughts or nuggets as well.

I don't get why everyone has thrown USC in the trash heap for losing a single game to Oregon so far.

Peach Bowl against Oregon was a rematch yes, but we didn't destroy and embarrass them the first go around to make it a true revenge game imo.
Oregon wasn't embarrassed the first time around though.
Getting beaten at Autzen by Indiana, when you are OR? And, not undefeated NC IN, but upstart IN who'd only ever really beaten IL and IA. I bet Dan Lanning and 53,085 of his closest friends would disagree. There was all kinds of talk about payback in ATL.
The line is generally IU -7.5. I'd be shocked if our 2's get in. This won't be easy -- big atmosphere and Nebraska will do all they can to seize this opportunity.
@tammany Agreed. That environment will be intimidating and not something this group of players has encountered. I think if NB can leverage that and make a big play(s) and get an early lead, it could be a real problem. If IU is able to get on track and NB starts slowly, as apparently they have this year, then I think it will be a long day for the Huskers.

Struggling with Rutgers and what seems a worse than expected WA team. And, what they were supposed to be working to improve was defense and that doesn't seem to have happened. Certainly recoverable, but doesn't appear like they are the team ready to step up and challenge at the top of the B10.
When they actually lose one they shouldn't, I'll put them on the heap.I don't get why everyone has thrown USC in the trash heap for losing a single game to Oregon so far.

Agreed for sure the books are off looking this game. Huskers on the road is a good game for IUFB.

Any Butthole Surfers reference gets a fire emoji, no matter how many times it takes to get it right on the phone.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

Good overview…
My only ultra nitpick would be that the forecasts I’ve seen has the projected temperature in the stands topping out at 84 but that could easily translate into 90+ on the field… Our having played in those early scorchers might actually translate into a strength for us this time around (some mental acclimation of sorts)…
The weather element that could turn out to be a major factor is a projected 15-20 mph consistent wind coming out of the south with possible gusts above 35… That could be an issue in both the deep passing game and the kicking game… If it comes down to a FG for the Win we may need to get closer than usual or just go for it on the ground…
With that strong wind coming out of the south whoever is heading north in the 4th quarter (in a tight game) will have a distinct advantage…
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I saw some forum of the Nebraska camp had a comment they were sure Rhule has not forgotten the beat down, lol.2. Feels like this is the first rematch and revenge game by an opponent in the Cig era by a team that was thoroughly embarrassed in the first matchup.
This is the big game, to me. Rhule and staff will be ready, and their team will be ready. Won't be easy to match their intensity.
If we get thru this one we will be looking really good. Have to put it on the field!

@openwheel As someone said on a preview I listened to this morning, for IU it's the classic trap game, for NB it's their Super Bowl. Will I ever get used to hearing stuff like that?
