Friends,
I am bitter about the fact that I have been an ardent and informed IUFB fan for almost 20 years, and yet I am aware of so many new and casual fans getting the hookup on tickets. This is compounded because I couldn't go to BIG10 Championship game or Peach Bowl and I didn't nut up to go to the Rose Bowl.
It's petty, I know. Someone please comfort me.
@keanu-reeves They've been kicking butt with out you physically in the stands, so maybe that is a good thing you didn't get CFP NC game tickets? That's the best I can do
@keanu-reeves only 20 years? I was at the Rice game where Cig was one of the coaches. I was an IU fan when Van Waiters was considered God like. 20 years... do your time man.
The only people getting ticket deals (face value) are folks with a ton of VC points, which cost a lot to accumulate. Otherwise most people are paying through the nose.
Isn’t it cool to see 70K IU fans show up to playoff games? Many may be IUFB casuals and bandwagoners, but that’s the nature of any fanbase. And many are grads which I think entitles them to jump into any IU sport at anytime.
This is the best stretch of IU athletics since the ‘80’s. May as well enjoy it.
You'll just have to make sure you go to the next one.
That's what I said in '87 when I was a broke student and couldn't swing the trip to New Orleans.

@sparky I thought 20 years was good, considering the circumstances!

You are correct on all points. I am very happy for all of us. I need to get over it. I will on Monday when I can't sit still all day.
Go next year 😉 👍

I'm only middle age and been a good 40 years now for me. Remember going to IU games in my Anthony Thompson jersey
Need to bide your time young whippersnapper lol
My first game was to watch Babe at QB.
He was on College Sports today, by the way. They were talking about Indiana looking like they had the cheat codes. Michigan was mentioned and Babe said "Michigan had the cheat code because they were actually cheating. Cignetti's mind is our cheat code." LOL

I'm also bitter. Or maybe just disappointed.
Over on the ticket exchange a guy has like 30 natty tix for sale. With the prices, even beating the fees from one of the big ticket re-seller hubs, he'll end up profiting like $50k. Which he's just squeezing out of IU fans. For tickets he's not using.
It's just a big race to the bottom. Because we can't trust everyone to take what they need, pass on what they don't, and let the next person on the rung get a chance. Because everyone figures someone downstream is going to try and cash in, "might as well be me." Kind of sucks. Especially with the understanding that you only end up with the kind of points necessary to get to the front of the line by being able to afford/spend a lot of money. So the people who can most afford it get the cheapest tickets that they can sell at a wildly inflated market rate at the expense of those on average less able to afford it. #America #FreeMarket
In full disclosure, I'm getting face value tickets from someone I know. And if I somehow end up off the waitlist for tickets on Friday, I'll be selling mine at face value to other IU fans I know will use them. Just seems distasteful to try and profit off of the team at the expense of other IU fans.
@keanu-reeves I’ve been a Varsity Club donor for 40 years and had season tickets for about 20 years.
After this season I’m more worried if I’ll have enough points and money to get my season tickets again,if I don’t then yeah I’ll be bitter. Its a good problem to have but I’m sure there will be major changes coming next year on ticket prices, etc.

that's capitalism... is what it is. You'll have a better seat on your couch anyway.
@keanu-reeves you know, I’m a little ticked off at one of my best friends. I’m not sure she’s EVER been to a game. She knows and cares NOTHING about football. But she has a lot of expendable funds. Going to the game. ( I’m going but I’m ticked for people like you)
