The more film breakdowns I see the more this feels like a belt-to-ass type game. Slow o-line for bama. They can’t run or pass block. That tells you how good Simpson is. His interceptions total should be higher than it is. Their defense is suspect on deep balls too. Lots of things screaming in IU’s favor.
I’m nervous as hell. I won’t enjoy the game. I will the 100 times I watch it afterwards though. I have the worst FOMO in my life that I couldn’t go. I’m very superstitious so deciding what to do. because there has been a narrative since all 4 teams with a bye lost last season that the long layoff hurts teams with a bye. So, yes it is a concern, but doesn’t mean that we will start off badly. @hoosierdaddy but, but, but, they are just on a different level in the SEC, despite all the data against that. Hilarious that 2 of their better wins came against teams that just got beaten by teams IU dispatched.
They are the bluest of blue bloods, and I can allow myself to worry that all their player rankings could rise up and beat us, but I trust in this team and that the coaching staff will have them ready to go. I think we win by 10+, and the final margin will depend on if one of their speedsters is able to break free. Just hope we get on the board first to quiet the Bama fans and calm the nerves. Honestly a game I'd not mind if we lose the coin toss and get the ball first. I'm actually surprised how few teams want the ball first. Seems like if you have scripted plays and trust your O, putting a score on the board first is a big advantage. Googled it and in a story that came up over 96 games, the team that scored first won 66% of the time.
