I was one that loved that he tweaked Michigan and Ohio State, said so at the time. Was happy for the bravado.Cig is a maestro playing the media. From the moment he set foot on the court in Assembly Hall, every word he said is one he has chosen. Better still, everything he has said has come to pass.
But also said we may get pounded by them for that, his first couple years.
LOL 🤣 In my best Homer Simpson... "Doh!"
I guess the very first Ohio State game, at their place, they were happy to whip us and the players tried to use it to mock Cig. But other than that one. And one was worth it. We got the first post-season game...
@thehoosierhuddle Good question for CCC, Sammy, and nice exposure for Hoosier Huddle.

I like the media asking the describe the process or philosophy questions we got in the Cig Q&A today.
It grinds my gears that the IU media frames some dumbass questions often in press conferences and Q&As.
@middawg Asking good questions is a lost art. Too many times, questions are too wordy, just reciting stats or asking 5 questions in one and the original question gets avoided.
I have asked bad questions, we all do, but I try and practice them and clean them up so it's quick and to the point.
Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
I talked to Scott Dolson today as well and we were talking about how good Cig is at handling the media. He's like a sniper. He knows exactly what to say, when to say it, how to say it and who to say it to.

Agreed. And while he's candidly blunt and unfiltered, he's not a dick about it and isn't looking to embarrass people. For example, he handled that question about the "Google Me" patch with a smile and good humor. Another coach might have reacted very differently.
@big-ryan I thought he opened with a good joke too. Just the wrong setting to get laughs, but it was a good one.

Reddit CFB on this, is great.
Coach appears to be keeping his support among Big Ten fans and quite a bit around the country. The SEC fans though, many who used to like the Indiana story, are abandoning ship and accusing him of being too cocky and that the Big Ten are the whiners. (Also Notre Dame, which I think we agree with them on.) Lot of slams from fans of the most recent big dog of the SEC, Georgia... lol.
Fun stuff.
I think SEC fans liked IU's realignment of the balance of power in the Big Ten but our destruction, in Pasadena, of the SEC's most prestigious football program was too much for them. They're jealous of IU's rapid climb and the fact that the Big Ten is unquestionably the best conference in college football.
I have to credit Finebaum, who I don't like, for a pretty funny comment the other day on the Dan Patrick Show. "I was stupid enough on one of these interviews last August to say, 'If the SEC can't beat the Big Ten this year, I'm leaving the country," Finebaum said. "I lost so much money betting against Indiana last year, I didn't have enough money to leave the country."
Hopefully the B1G makes it four straight national championships this season. I think IU, Ohio State and Oregon (and maybe USC) are all in the mix.
@thehoosierhuddle you know something is coming when the head and hands start twerking and shaking. He’s a mic drop guy.

I don't hear a lot of love for the "IU Story" down here in NC/SC, beyond the relocated B10 folks. Sucks too much oxygen out of the SEC room. And, any support there might have been likely disappeared with a certain 38-3 victory!
I've seen many compliments from SEC country 'congrats Indiana', some bummed they were at the wrong timing cycle to get a different guy before or after Cig. Not as much as many other leagues I guess. I have seen quite a bit. Maybe I am remembering wrong.
Now though... post after post from fans of SEC schools saying that league chest thumping about being the best league is crazy because they hate every school in their league and don't tout the SEC over thier school...
LOL This after we've seen 15 years of 'SEC...SEC' chants on ESPN and ESPN doing the league chest thumping for them. And fans claiming thier 9-3 6th place school deserves into the playoff over 11-1 Indiana...
Now the shoe is on the other foot, they aren't loving it as much.
