Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
You mentioned CCC's first Big Ten Media Days in 2024. He wasn't as brash as he had been at the hoops game the previous December but there was still plenty of confidence and optimism. I remember thinking he was setting himself up for some brutal memes but, damn, the man delivered in a way no one (except maybe Cignetti himself) could have imagined.
I just watched his 2024 Media Days podium appearance again. This comment stands out: "Nothing gets people more excited than winning. You string together a couple of wins, all of a sudden you're on national TV every week, you can't get in the stadium, you become the talk of the country." Check, check, check and check. Incredible.
There's no doubt in my mind that we've got the best college football coach in the country.
@big-ryan He did drop a "Bullshit, we want to win" at the side podium. Cig has been very prophetic in his comments while he's been at IU.

2024 he cut a promo. 2025 he said we were following the SEC scheduling philosophy.
2026? I kinda thinking Cig keeps it low key. Last year said it all. I'm not sure if he has a key point he wants to get across this year.
We'll see.
@tammany The Google Me comment came out because three reporters kept asking him the same question about how he sells Indiana to players. I am sure some one will ask the same silly question over and over and elicit a response.
If I were betting on it, I would say he says something about still being about to hunt when the hunter becomes the hunted...Lions have been known to take down a few poachers ya know.

I have a friend who got to meet one of the assistants at the golf course this summer. My friend shook his hand and said something like, “From a long time IU Football supporter I just want to thank you for all of the joy you brought to my life the last 2 years.” After the you’re welcome the coach said, “Yeah, we get a lot of that, but frankly that is what we intended to do”.You mentioned CCC's first Big Ten Media Days in 2024. These guys are amazing!

Yea, I wasn't referring to the Google Me comment, just the declaration about what IU was going to be.
Agree on that guess about what he might say Thursday. I'll be watching live... can't miss Cig at the podium.
@tammany He's had a lot of "one liners" emerging super powers, SEC scheduling, BS we want to win. He knows what the room needs at that moment. I did think towards the end of 2024 he got a little too out in the middle of the current, but hey it worked out

@thehoosierhuddle Yea, before the ND game was a little rough. But, no one's perfect and I get he was responding to some our critics unfairly saying we didn't belong in the CFP.
Man, did it ever work out!

They really are. Their mentality is just the best.
I would bet Cignetti' message or potential standout comment this media appearance has the underlying intended impact or affect of grabbing the attention of future portal transfers or HS recruits for IUFB.
Publicity for the Program has been a steady heartbeat these last few months and with camp and the season beginning soon it's time to put an exclamation point on the offseason.
Cig is a maestro playing the media. From the moment he set foot on the court in Assembly Hall, every word he said is one he has chosen. Better still, everything he has said has come to pass.
I enjoy reading the 'what will Cig say this year' stuff. Both here and elsewhere. 😎
