@drjb That’s how I feel. I just kept looking around the stadium, listening to the crowd and thinking how is this us? Lots of mistakes and we lost to a top 5 team by inches. Horrors!

new streak starts next week with win #1 over the cheatin' wolverines

@unclemark a lot of fighting and attacks in this thread. Very interesting. I might post over here more.

Iu is fine.  And my post bitching about our shitty non conf schedule was wrong inasmuch as it’s obviously not worth the risk of an additional loss.  Lose one more now we’re likely okay. 3 forget it even if the nonconf was to a solid team

We're complaining about a guy that threw for 296 yards and was a foot out of bounds from having over 300 yards and the winning touchdown pass.

Cmon, Boogie. You can't just look at the yardage. He was 50% on his passes, 20-40; in this system, that's not good.

Add his failure to read/see open guys, and what I can only assume are missed run reads on the RPOs, and it was a bad day. Let's hope he bounces back against Michigan.

All that said, Marsh should have been aware enough to get his foot down.

...You dont throw a bad pass and blame the receiver for not making an insane play to correct the bad throw. Ha

I am 100% sure that even Nick Marsh disagrees with you.

I'm 100% sure any player would and should take responsibility for any play. Hes a great kid doing what great teammates do. That doesn't remove common sense from the equation.

I haven't once said he was good, but only that his bad day went for almost 300 yards.

What help did he have out there?  Our running game never got going and as much as we all like Ajani, he's starting to become a concern.  I don't think tackle is his best position, but the reality is we really don't have anyone better to put there, so we've constantly got to help him in passing situations.

Hoover missed guys, absolutely.  He also stepped up and made some really good throws.  Ohio State is really good.  We weren't playing a nobody.  They've got pros all over the field.   Before that last throw, we had two missed field goals and two fumbles that we miraculously only gave up 3 points on.

We can absolutely win with Hoover as qb.

Also, as a side night, I really hate the way roughing the passer is called.  We should just start putting these qbs in flags to stop from hitting them at all.  Guys can't hit them and land on them?  Where are they suppose to fall?  The OSU one, as much as we'll all take the free yards,  was also a BS call.  It was right with the letter of the rule, but the rule needs changed.  Nothing was late, nothing was trying to hurt either guy.  Football is really soft right now.

The good news is that loss will not hurt our chances to get into the CFP much and Cig and staff have the rest of the year to continue to improve these guys. They will not reach the level of last year, but not many ever will. I’m still excited about this team and the possibilities for improvement are pretty big and I trust This coaching staff to produce on many of them.

Spot on. Last year’s season was arguably the greatest in the history of college football. It’s not going to be replicated anytime soon.

Hoover isn’t Mendoza. He may not even be Rourke, but he’s still very good. We’ve won six with him, we’ve got a good shot at five more, and the CFP remains very much in play.
