They say it's not about who you lose, it's who you get. I think we're gonna get a pretty good group coming in.
Instate will take more notice and be more motivated when high flying out of state grads and equally talented portal players arrive in Bloomington to play FB. Somewhere the glass ceiling cracks.

This is exactly why I’m not worried about who Brewster picks. Even if he chooses us we have to hold on to his commitment for what a year? I have gotten too accustomed to losing recruits before signing day. We can get talent in the transfer portal. Cig certainly knows what he’s doing. I just hope we have boosters who are helping Cig land his top picks.
@olympian97 We also have four 4* DL, including 2 big DTs, in the 2026 class. We also have a couple 3* DTs in the class who look promising. While it would be nice to have a guy of Brewster's caliber on the roster, long term roster building its not exactly a need in the immediate future. I have no clue how they are doling out the NIL but IMO there other areas of the roster to address
I would really like to see us get some big receivers. Going back to last years commits, the WRs we have got to sign with us are all small dudes. While we can grab from portal, I would feel more comfortable having at least one "X" sized receiver in the pipeline instead of hoping its a good year for receivers in the portal. I could be wrong, but I think the only receivers we have over 6'0+ next year are Becker and walk-on Cade Kaiser
Take that throw to EJ that put us up 21-7 this weekend... Thats a play we cant do with a short WR

@kelly_32 Very true. With TTU, Texas, Oregon and OSU involved in Brewster's recruitment you know he is getting some massive NIL offers. I just think we would be better off trying to put as competitive a package as possible for Monshun Sales, which would fill a roster hole and still provide that 5* commit eye opener. Bonus would be taking a step towards locking down the local talent... OSU has been raiding all of the local top talent for years now

I think that’s the best selling point for coming to Indiana. He will be a headliner and talked about endlessly like every time IU has a game. Maybe even the most popular guy on campus when he shows up. Whereas he will just be another blue chip at the Ohio States of the world. I would just feel better if he was waiting longer to commit. Holding that commitment of a 17 year old for a year with that much attention feels like a tall task. I would rather get him to commit like a month or two before signing day even though I can see that an early commitment could help build a stronger class. So, I am a bit torn on it, but as stated earlier I’m happy with whoever comes because Cig just does a great job of getting players from the portal when we need an immediate upgrade.

We've got some really good prospects in this class
Used to be other schools looked to see who Alabama offered.
Now they look to see who Coach Cignetti offered.

He had to sit out last year due to transfer and was hurt all sophomore year. Staff brought him in for a camp, liked what they saw, had him for an official and got him on board.

I want other schools to go ahead and offer our kids. It means we're recruiting kids that big name schools want.
Can't fight with the big boys if you don't step in the ring with them.
