Now that we know OSU and ND are getting 17 and 18 mil annually for adding a small patch on the shoulder pads, we can assume the same will happen with Indiana. That alone would pay for the stadium upgrades over a 5-10 year period.
My question is, do we rush to make a deal or do we wait until we have another year....gosh forbid another championship, and suddenly our deal could be really close to the top-end value. Not that we are incredibly far off that considering we are the defending champs but clearly there's still some that need one more season to prove IU is going nowhere.

With how good we are and the TV ratings IU now gets, I'd hope we get a good deal.
This is where having the elite business leadership associated with the school and a huge fan base will pay dividends.
Maybe we get Cuban to wait until all the deals are signed, then he signs IU to the highest deal with his prescription drug company. Most of the money will be considered a marketing investment for his company and the extra he will need to throw on top will just be his annual donations. But the publicity from ND fans and the rest of the nation at IU having the highest value for the patch, would be funny.
IU waited to get the best deal possible on the field naming rights. I assume they'll do the same here, but sometimes holding out costs you more than you'd make. Jersey patches have been on the horizon for a while and one would like to think IU has been in discussions for a while. There are a lot of statewide companies and companies with IU ties to do it.

I can't imagine IU will get anywhere close to what OSU is getting, even if we do an all-uniforms deal like they did. If we get $10M-$12M I'll be happy/surprised.
@gros-louis I agree. Then Petitti said something about doing a conference wide patch during championships or postseason, so it can be more.
$10-12 million would help

My only worry on a patch is if ours are designed by Adidas they'll probably look really stupid.
