The stats between Mendoza and Sayin are very similar. Their teams' strength of schedule will likely be similar after the regular season. The difference is that Sayin is throwing to better receivers than is Mendoza. Second, I believe there will be a very warm and fuzzy sentiment among the voters to choose the player from the "Cinderella" team. I don't view you as that but a lot of voters probably will. I don't believe the outcome of the B1G Title game will change the outcome of the Heisman voting, barring something insane.

Really? I'm thinking it's hard to be better than Sarratt, Cooper, Williams, and now Becker. Talking about as a group.
Sayin was 13 of 20 for 168 yards, 1 TD pass, no interceptions. The OSU coaching staff was very conservative with their offensive game plan as they didn’t want to put too much pressure on their young QB. I disagree that Sayin was “terrible” against Texas. I think he did well.
I get OSU fans love their frosh QB and they have a lot to be excited about his future, but that performance was objectively bad. If it were Alabama, even Paul Finebaum wouldnt claim that 200 yards of total offense (averaging 3.7 yards a play) was a good performance. Sayin threw 126 yards averaging 6 yards a pass, ever since the forward pass became a thing, that is not good
As to Sayin and Mendoza having similar stats, Mendoza has 10 more touchdowns than Sayin. Thats 2.5 "fantastic" games worth of TDs.

OSU has a WR group that is better than what some NFL teams have. Their top 5 wideouts were all 5*s (Smith / Tate / Innis / Graham / Porter)

Fair enough. I don't claim to follow other teams closely at all. Just found it difficult to believe a group could be better than ours.
@unclemark We definitely have nothing to complain about, I think when healthy our WR group is 2nd best in the country

All the more reason for Mendoza to be awarded the Heisman!
don’t they have a cashout option? Closer it gets, they offer you money like “Deal or No Deal” back in the day
@busdrivere Dang, I also have a couple natty slips on FanDuel but you got way better odds (I got +10,000 and +12,000). Looking at time slip it looks like I bet about 3 months earlier than you did, typical for IU to get dinged during off-season when nothing is happening lol

This one doesn't currently have a cash out option. The cash out button is greyed out. It's MGM and they're goofy as hell all the way around on that app. I rarely use it for anything other than to shop odds. They were a little better than DK and FD when I placed the bet.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

They are the best on paper but Elijah Sarratt was NR coming out of a high school. Ratings coming of HS doesn't necessarily mean anything other than people thought they were going to be good.
@olympian97 the school's heisman campaign is only a couple months late, they should have kickstarted it after the Illinois game. Better late than never I guess
@hurryinghoosiers I dont think they are just the best on paper, I love our guys and wouldnt trade them but Smith is going to be a top 3 draft pick and Tate likely goes top 15. I would bet all 5 of their top 5 guys end up making the league
