He's just not a lock. He's +100 right now, which is a 50% chance. Sayin (+200, 33% chance) has the UM game and Big Ten Championship as major showcase opportunities. Reed is a long shot, but he's got the Texas game and SEC title game as showcases too.
My guess is the winner of the B1G championship game gets it. The Heisman odds swing significantly from week to week and no one has it locked up right now.
+100 doesn't necessarily mean the bookmakers give him a 50% chance. In fact, given they are trying to take a rake, they probably think it's more like 55-65 percent that he's going to win at this point. Even better news.
@littlebitchbuckeye You've been nothing but respectful (to the point that I have to question if you're really a Buckeye), so no reason to not post here. I think it's great when rivals post, as long as they're not trolling. But, it is a tiresome argument that Day doesn't try and run up the stats, because the obvious implication is that Cignetti does. The only OSU game I've watched this year was TX, but I'd be willing to bet that our backup QB has played more minutes and snaps than OSUs. Just like I'm guessing that our backup RBs have. But, our backups have been very good. Any game we've had a lead in, our backup QB has been in for much of the 4th quarter and we've been run heavy and ground control, and we've still piled up yards and scores. People just assume with our scoring margins and points totals that Cig is running up the score, and I think he did do that last year. Not this year. Just like OSU, he's playing for something bigger.
