There seems to be a direct correlation between Evans being injured and our offensive line stinking it up.  It also seems to be when talent on the other team ramps up so it could just be that as well.

We really need Evans back soon though.

Agreed... Penn st got to Fernando way too easily.

week before we rushed for 375?  So that's pretty dam good. But I have noticed a drop off that corresponds to his injury

I was under the impression that Ajoni(sp?) did pretty well, all things considered.  Anybody rewatch just focused on him?

Not much you can do when they are sending more than you can block. I wonder if they have considered running double TE when teams are constantly blitzing like that and have both Riley and Holden out there for extra blocking, or lining up Riley in the backfield flanking the QB opposite Hemby? You can run a lot of plays out of that formation and use Riley as a lead blocker on run plays or extra protection on pass. They tried to leave our RB in there to block a few times, but those guys can only hold off front 7 guys for so long.

Evans will be out a few more weeks. I think we can win the next two without him. So, I’m hoping he gets back to 100% by the BTC. If he is not 100% rest him longer as the playoff run is more important since we still likely have a bye at 12-1 either as a 3 or 4 seed.

@mushroomgod

i thought ajani looked like a redshirt freshman making his first start against the athletes of psu on the road. he had some really rough sequences but he also was holding his own on that final drive when it mattered.

i'm writing about this, but it was just just him that struggled...this was an entire OL issue and a very similar situation to the iowa game.
