The dong pissing celebration, while absolute clown behavior, had be rolling on the floor laughing. He ended the game with five sacks, so whatever I guess. The worst was the USC player celebrating his devastating hit on Dante Moore though. It wasn't like he didn't know he hurt the kid because the play was a 12 yard run, not a sack so he was celebrating injuring him.
B. None of the below. It'll be Schiano after IU blows them out Saturday. Rutgers goes into their bye week and that's usually when the plug gets pulled.
C. I am happy with Hoover. Imagine the toxicity if Alberto started and played like he has...Hoover's been really, really good and is 4-0 and there is a loud part of the fan base that is saying he sucks. It's tough to be the guy after the guy, but how about being the brother of THE guy.

The one where the guy swiped at his balls and then smelled and fainted was also a riot. I tried to attach them, but wasn't able to do so. If anyone knows how, please attach.
I too am happy with Hoover. I think Alberto would have done as well so far but not better. Because I think this staff can take just about any able-bodied, experienced, and willing QB and make them look good. I feel Hoover has considerable room for improvement, especially with the Marsh connection. They don't always look to be on the same page. I feel like part of that is Marsh being a little hard-headed about doing things exactly as instructed.
At this point Nick may be playing better than Josh.
Both have upside. Hopefully it happens.
@mushroomgod I don’t think Marsh is hard headed about what he’s asked to do at all. That’s a narrative some screamo podcast started with zero evidence.
Now he may have relied solely on talent before IU and is still learning how to do things, but it’s not hard headedness.

Still intently believe JH maybe a little gun shy. He's had months of coaching reflecting the harm interceptions were to TCU. Outside of that feeling I do recognize his 4 game results as nearly flawless. Now speaking out the other side of my mouth the 1 near fatal pass he had was his sideline near desperation throw while on the run and was caught by Schott. Very certain the ass chewing he received after that reception has reinforced his caution. It's a step at a time and this week is another step, maybe 2. Give em hell Josh.
Two Indiana opponents play tonight.
8pm - Western Kentucky v New Mexico State
9pm - North Texas v Tulsa
Should be fun to watch.
1-3 New Mexico State stomping the shit out of WKU isn't going to do much for our metrics.
Ahh, haha, just now a bad turnover, interception, by NM. Short pass fired a bit strong hit the receiver in the facemask. Could've nursed a 20-3 lead into half with also a chance at a FG. Instead WK a chance at points. (WKU did get 3, 20-6 at half.)
Watching TJ and the Mean Green.
Their RB that is great just ripped off an 80 yarder and is again averaging 10 plus ypc.
Tayven had 10 for 22 for 94 yards early second half and they were gushing over him, and I was laughing a bit about them hyping. 'He has 94 yards!'
Then he went 8 of 9 for the next 130 yards... LOL
Edit: Huge interception by Tayven! Bad idea... Million dollar arm, ten cent, ahem, nvm.
Mean Green and TJ pull it off in OT when the refs blow the two pt conversion call for Tulsa at the goalline and bad video makes it upheld.
Tulsa was gifted a TD on about the worst call you will ever see earlier in the game and replay somehow bungled it too so guess it all evened out.
I thought both calls were right.
Except the explanation on the Tulsa touchdown was that he was forced out, which was about the only explanation that was 100% clearly wrong. It was so stupid.
The 2 point try was as close as it gets. And may have got there, bad angles on the video is right. The game decider too, not to tie, but to win or lose.
USC would be obligated for potentially a huge buyout if they fired Riley (estimates are in the $60M-$70M range, with certain offset provisions). They have as much or more money than almost anyone in the Big Ten, but that’s a huge amount of money when you also need to go get the next guy. Schiano, on the other hand, is owed something in the $17M-$18M area, which is far more manageable. In spite of the figures, would guess Riley’s seat is hotter than Schiano’s.Several interesting discussion topics this week probably not worthy of their own threads, so here goes:
A. Three college football celebrations made the news this week:
1. Texas player simulates taking out his giant dong and taking a sweeping piss;
2. Texas player simulates wiping and smelling his own balls and fainting; and
3. Josh Hoover points at a NW player as he scores a TD.
Who is the worst offender?
B. Which of the following coaches on the hot seat get fired first, which coach the whole year, and which gets fired last? (my guesses)
1. Mike Norvell, FSU....He must have nude photos of the AD's wife to still be around. At this point, he finishes the year.
2. Barry Odom, Purdue....He lasts the year, and is the last one fired of the five
3. Shane Beamer, S. Carolina....I think the first to go
4. Lincoln Riley, USC....Don't think he lasts the year...fired with a game or two to go
5. Mike Locksley, MD....Lasts the year, gets fired before Odom.
Related.....Luke Fickell gets a one year reprieve, never gets fired, but moves on to the NFL after next year
C. How would Alberto have fared at IU this year?
--Hoover: 56/80; 70%; 11 TDs, 0 ints; 10.6 ypa; 15.2 ypc; PER--204.6
--Alberto: 84-123; 68.3%; 6 TDs; 3 ints; 7.9 ypa; 11.6 ypc, PER--146.1
Alberto is 1-3 at GT playing something of a tougher schedule--Colorado; Mercer; TENN; Stanford. Last year in limited play his PER was 235.5. Last year at TCU Hoover's PER was 153.4. He had 29 passing TDs & 13 ints.....
Although I think Hoover's upside is higher, I also think Alberto through our first 4 games would probably have #s similar to Hoover's. I think it's an illustration of how damn hard it is to play QB for really crappy teams.
What surprises me most about Alberto is that it doesn't appear that he's being used much as a runner at GT. He's shown as having 19 rush attempts for minus 27 yards. I assume most were sacks or TFLs. The only game I saw of his was most of Colorado.....I don't remember seeing any called QB runs in what turned out to be a one-point game.
He wasn't a guy I would want as a P4 QB if you're not going to run any designed QB runs for him.
That RB has one more year to play. Hmmmmm. 🙂Watching TJ and the Mean Green.

I don't think Rutger can afford to fire him even at that relatively small amount. They're so deeply in debt; I think they have to ride this out. They'll certainly need a donor(s) to foot the bill. If Pikiel can't come back after his cancer fight, they'll have to figure that situation out. Tough spot to be in with the rev sports and a reported $500M in debt. Maybe he steps down and forgives the remainder of his contract?
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

And if it was our RB, some Indiana fans would be whining about speed because he was caught from behind. Even though it took them 70 yards to gain the final closing yard to tackle.Their RB that is great just ripped off an 80 yarder and is again averaging 10 plus ypc.
Yeah, he is good.
That ended up being a fun game. I'm tired today, a bit more than 5 hours sleep after that one, lol.
