LSU cant afford his buyout, their only booster with big bucks is a UGA graduate (who owns Cane's chicken).
People are still fixated on past prestige instead of what makes a good program now. I think you would have a better chance at winning a title at PSU than any of the other open jobs.
That is hilarious! LSU lowballing the buyout and spending some extra time trying to figure out some 'for cause' reason. If that is true, and Kelly's lawyers apparently said so.

Kenny Dillingham is out with a new contract. After some comments, Brent Key of Georgia St is also likely out but that could be posturing. Brian Daboll to Penn St, maybe???
@thehoosierhuddle I just can't believe that there aren't winning% and accomplishments written in to these contracts, as minimum requirements and failing to meet them is cause. At least basic stuff: cannot have 2 consecutive years under 500/not top half of league, etc...
I find these coach contacts to be pretty ridiculous. But I suppose it’s as simple as good coaches are rare and in very high demand and therefore can get great contract terms.

Will be interesting to see. They continue on a losing streak and are losing the 50/50 games, like Rutgers. They are on a 5 game losing streak and finish @ Illinois, Michigan @ home and @MSU. They also have a new AD who was former front office with the Atlanta Braves. Locksley has no connection to him. If this continues, I could see them pulling the trigger for a G5 coach.

@kkott No one would sign that contract. No one. Agents have a job to do as well. So a coach would get dinged if their star QB breaks a leg or it's a year that the schedule is more difficult than the year before.
I get what you're saying, but that's not how it works with "for cause". What needs to happen is that ADs need to stop bidding against themselves and giving these astronomical buy outs. The issue isn't Brian Kelly lost games, it's that LSU doesn't want to pay what he is owed. That AD gave ridiculous buyouts to Jimbo Fisher and Brian Kelly and I believe they had the same agent or agency. That's the problem.

I'll have to look at the fine print, but I believe being an asshole is among the list of "for cause" reasons. If this is indeed correct, Kelly has no case.
