Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.
POTFB
With the old quarter zip on… he’s probably going to win the thing.
Did his job with excellence!
2024 IU got a display IndyCar for promos and recruiting pictures. 2025 they took the time to wrap it in IU colors. 2026 Cig paces the field for the 110th running.
Awesome.
bet he never thought he'd be in that spot
does he keep the car?
He looked about as happy and excited as he did after we won the championship!
Trying to get a video up from my vantage point of the race!

No, the car goes on display/storage at various places (IMS Museum, GM, Penske, etc.) for awhile.
I'm slightly glad our coach will not be keeping a 1,250hp sports car... lotta back roads around Bloomington... 😉

i was joking but yeah he could afford one for every day of the week if he wanted
and im glad he's not interested in setting any speed records
the only thing he's chasing is more championships
It was fun to see him and I agree with the adage that any publicity is good publicity, but what is the viewership for the race, and who actually watches it? Thinking it's largely watched in the midwest and by racing fans, but I don't know how many of those folks there are nationwide. I asked within my poker group, which would be 8 mostly 45-65 yo white male sports fans and don't think one, other than me watched. 4 are from IN/OH, 1 WI and 3 Carolinians.

I turned it on to see him drive the pace care and he was just pulling off the track at the beginning of the race.
I didn't watch the race. Really couldn't care less. My FIL at the time kept trying to get me to go. He had a police escort into the track and great seats but I never did go. I should have at least once to say that I did but oh well.....
Did he just drive it at the start? Or did he or would he have driven if the pace car needed to go out during the race?
