@ironbuckeye1 That's what I think will happen as well. If, however, it's like 31-28 and both teams play fairly well, I can see them seeded 1/2. But ... if Georgia bodybags Bama, they'll likely be #2.

In any case, 2 and 3 are so close that the true "better" seed could be either. For example, let's say a Bama win vaults them to 7 while Oklahoma ends at 6. In that scenario, OU is the easier opponent. Excellent defense, but shit offense.

@ironbuckeye1 Easy to say, but hard to actually do. OSU's been there so many times, it has to mean more to IU and while he won't say it, I don't think Cig will forget the late TD from last year. Also, OSU proved last year, the B10 championship doesn't really matter overall... unless you've never played in it and it's another first to tack on to your program. If OSU plays their A game, I don't think IU can beat them with the talent disparity, but human nature says they won't have their A game, imo.

This game does scare me.  I think we will compete. But at what cost.  Now that we have the playoff the conference championship games aren't as vital.  Both teams stand to lose players to injury. For what ... we are both in no matter what.

that said I think we lose this one :

27-21.

several teams in the last few weeks we're able to get pressure on Mendoza. Most memorable is Penn St.  if OSU gets that kind of pressure on him we will lose.  They have too many athletes to suffocate us with

I'd rather us win this game, league championship (!) , and lose in the CFP, then to win one game in the CFP, and lose game two in the semis.

Now, two wins and a CFP final? Pretty close, if we lose. But I guess a CFP final trumps a league championship. So I'd go with two wins over just this one. 14-2 though, and no titles? Eh... LOL . 13-1 and Big Ten Champion sounds pretty good!

But like Cig says. Game on and there's time to heal up. Yes, there is always significant injury risk in a football game. But both teams will be going big time for the league title.

WIN THE B1G!

Besides, can't go undefeated without winning this one.

I recall a tremendous amount of hate towards the 2009 Colts for phoning in the last two games once they had the #1 seed locked up even though they gave up a chance to go 16-0.  I would argue that what they did would be more logical than the Hoosiers phoning in the B1G championship game.  There is at least SOMETHING to gain by winning in addition to all of the regular cliches about staying sharp & whatnot.

Those are games we were playing without Drew Evans.  IU is undefeated with Drew Evans the last 2 seasons.  It's amazing how good our pass pro is when he is playing vs when he isn't.  Most pundits proclaiming this same concern don't realize we were without Evans during those games and got him back last week.

I did forget about that, that makes me feel a little better.  I'm still scared of this one.  And honestly I'd like to play ND in the CFP because I want to beat them , but I don't really like the matchup.

@hoosiers94 OSU will get pressure on Mendoza; they have too many athletes not to. But, we should have Evans back and Mendoza moves a lot better than Rourke. Gotta hope our run game can be counted on and is a weapon, and we don't hurt ourselves. On the other side of the ball, we have to get pressure on Sayin and make him uncomfortable. He's been remarkably composed for a RS freshman, but so was Moore before we played Oregon. If OSU plays their A game, I think they'll probably win, but I think we have better than a puncher's chance with the intangibles in this game and this particular team.

we should Atleast play better than we did against them last season! We have tape on them now from last years game! I’m confident that the coaching staff will put together a good game-plan! This game will show us how much we can compete with the big dawgs!

agreed. We have a punchers chance no doubt. We can't beat ourselves in this game. Thus far this season we have not done that much.  Running game is huge for us and getting pressure on Sayin is also key as you mentioned.  No grave errors on special teams either.  This is a game I'm hoping Franke can kickoff.  Not sure of his status but a kick out of the end zone makes me feel much better

That's my fear.  Lose to OSU and we'll get ND in our first game.  I'd almost guarantee it.  Not that I think they are a better team because I don't.  But all the pressure would be on IU once again and they'd be playing with house money.

Evans was back vs Purdue. Aside from the season ending injury guys, we get to play OSU at "full strength" this year.

Evans was available but did not play, as I saw it from Row 59.  Neither did Benson except late, which begs to me whether Benson has been demoted or not.
