Found this interesting.

You might need to click on this tweet to see his chart for '24, '25, and thus far in '26 using the Athletics CFB Payroll data.

Can’t say I like this because numbers move so much from year to year.  And 2024 was pre-rev share.

Purdue fans just now realizing they are the Hobo program of the Big Ten is something.

Directionality is alright, granularity of the data always open to debate and interpretation.

@middawg Yea, the NIL era is not good for them.  Painter does a good job on a budget, but he’s impacted by it.  And trying to get a football program out of the quicksand with their budget will take a great hire, which as we know isn’t too likely.

It’s a real shame.  😏

Did you see that in court testimony that TKR made a grand total of 1.4 million in his five years at Purdue?

Coming off his All American season, he made a million, a one to two million discount to "market."

@middawg Yea, I'm not sure how how much longer they'll be able to keep that up.  They also paid Edey way less than he was worth.  Same with Braden.

Now, don't get me wrong, credit Matt for finding strong program fits that will do this.  But, it's not easy finding guys who will play for steep discounts.

The bedrock of their NIL issues

Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.
