@thehoosierhuddle You think on McAfee means anything? It feels kind of positive to me. But I guess not, if he honestly doesn’t know yet.

@zeke4ahs I guess, but it really doesn't change my feelings at all. It's IU or Texas and IU feels very good about its chances.

I say cut bait, not worth the drama for one player
NIL has completely ruined college football. He among the rest just milk it for the biggest pay day

Let him go to Bama or LSU for a year.when he doesn’t get enough touches he will be available for half the money.

@zeke4ahs you have to think so since knowing Pat, he’s not gonna be able to hide his disappointment if the kid goes on his show and says he’s going to Texas.

@ccmac yeah, I’ll pass on that take. After having waited for players to sign in January, we should pass on a top 10 player because he made us wait until mid July?

The kid was intentional with his process and is now making the most of a once in a lifetime moment. Let him enjoy it and soak it up.

@ccmac No way. If we want to play with the big boys, we are going to need to land some of these recruits. Not that many five stars in our own back yard. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be Bama or LSU. Texas, or us…

This is how recruiting with the blue bloods works.

And NIL has benefited Indiana football.

@ccmac IU isn’t where it is without NIL. There has always been this drama in big time recruiting as well.

The Sales process only makes the IU commitment 'sweeter'.  Do not believe 1 bit Texas has more $ NIL for this playmaker especially knowing Dolson, Cignetti and there favorite VIP passenger Cuban drive the train.  This is an "all hands on deck" time to establish IUFB recruiting in-state prowess.  Just can't read it any other way.

My gut feeling is that Cuban may be willing to step in if needed in a specific case, but that he's not going to be just automatically shoveling money at the athletic department generally, year in and year out.

Cubes said he gives a lump sum each year to the athletic dept and Scott allocates it.  They could make a special call but I kinda doubt they need to here.

Sales is pricey, but this is nothing new for us.  For example Nick Marsh was probably about the same or maybe more.  Josh Hoover was way more.

Think it is a very good sign he is announcing on Pats show, so many ways he could announce this via multiple outlets. Many kids have announcement shows where they have multiple hats in front of them. The fact that this kid committed to taking all his visits, said all along he would announce by July and there has been little to zero insider information leaked out says a lot about this kids integrity. Could he pull a misdirection play and say another school? Sure could but think that shows disrespect going on an Indiana backer program and he would hear about that since he is from Indy

Yeah, Pat’s such an IU Homer it’s hard to believe Sales would pick his show only to announce for Texas.

That said, we’ve been here before - and lost

Kind of a weird sentiment on an IU football site after last year. You preferred 3-9 and watching UGA and OSU battle every year? You can argue the pendulum has swung too far, but I'm OK with much of what NIL and the transfer portal has done for obvious reasons!
