I was there and didn't notice what our team did but was also harassed on the way out by a married couple claiming we (the team) didn't wave. And I have to be honest...I was looking forward to participating in the tradition, but it felt very underwhelming to me when it happened. Maybe if I were sitting on the opposite side and had the hospital and the rest of the stadium all in my sight at the same time, it would have felt cooler to me. I dunno. Maybe I'm just a coldhearted prick (given that I cried when Waffle House scored, I don't think that's it).
Just another acknowledgement that IU football is the real deal. People want to hate Cig.
Everyone loved our previous coaches. You know, the ones they could count on beating regularly.
What's fun, is I believe as long as we keep Cig, Iowa fans are going to have to learn to like a series of beat downs.

From the reporting, on both sides of this, seems obvious that Cig and many others probably spent the majority of the timeout doing normal routine football stuff... but did look up and wave, at some point.
Anyone that was "wave checking", enough that they watched IU's sideline long enough to form a stance that "IU didn't wave"... probably isn't taking in that moment for what its intended to be. If the Iowa Karen's were watching IU's huddle that long, were they themselves actually waving for the kids???

From now on, anyone who doesn't kiss Hep's rock and show respect for our coach that passed will get the same treatment. We can out Karen Iowa fans.
I was there. It was so loud, I never heard any announcement about The Wave. Just noticed people waving and joined in. I sorta remembered it was after the 3rd quarter, but it was after 1. I know there were several thousand people in lines for cokes, beers, snacks and restrooms, so I guess they all hate sick kids.
Did wave, didn't wave. Big deal. Has nothing to do with the sun coming up the next morning or playing the next game. Flip the coin and let's whip 🦆.
