He announces this the day after attending the IU game. Would be a massive get.

One of his highlights is him playing wildcat QB and he goes around the end for about 50 yards. W some nice agility to slip a tackle early. 🤣 At 300 lbs.

Looks like he is going to Texas Tech, unfortunately. They have unlimited money.

It's great IU is in the conversation and there is a connection between Haines and Brewer's father, but IU is a long shot here.

I am not a participation trophy guy, but getting him to campus twice is a big deal even if he goes elsewhere

There's been a couple picks for them on other sites

Tech is really up there in terms of NIL.  They've got the number #4, #9 and #102 kid in the nation for the 27 class.

Right.  Cody Campbell has given TTU a blank check.  They have to pay players a little more to go to Lubbock and their player payroll is ~2x ours.

But, we've just got to stay on our path and keep increasing our NIL -- we aren't even two years into the Cig project.  The next step is probably landing more 4*'s.

Rivals has him at a 95% chance going to Texas Tech. Tech has a former player who made it big in oil and is just throwing money at their program

texas tech has very generous, oil rich, boosters who have decided they won't be outspent for guys they want...they're at the "what is your best offer, ok, here's 100k more" level.

and frankly, i'm not all that mad iu isn't blowing all kinds of nil on freshman who might have little impact early.

addressing the bolded...iu has started to do that. iu has 4 guys considered 4* by the 247 composite rankings. i tend to like 247's personal rankings better than other sites and they have iu with 0 4*'s...that said they also have 7 players ranked 88 or 89 (90 rating is 4*) and i wouldn't be surprised if some of those numbers jumped as more tape is put out their on their recruits.

guys like ja'dyn williams, cameron mchaney, and ronelle johnson already look like players from the stats and videos i've seen.

I like the recruiting under Cig so far. Very much.

Its a tough gig needing to turn over more rocks to find the undervalued guys. And then all the dog and pony show work to sell the right ones on Indiana. Im sure he wouldnt mind a Texas Tech oilman helping out with blank checks.

But Cig sure seems to understand the landscape. He seems to enjoy that part of the job even.

Agree and we've made strides.  Hopefully we can get up to 30-40% 4*'s -- that might be enough to start doing really big things.  If anyone can break the blue-chip ratio, it's Cig.

@iureactionary I think On3 is the most accurate these days for rankings. I believe in latest NFL draft they had the most 4*/5* get drafted. Also compare how transfers have been rated, On3 saw IU coming while 247 thought we would we stink last year. Good news is On3 thinks we have several top 150 players in the 2026 class and more 4*s

Recruiting is definitely on the up. A lot of the guys in the class have a lot of offers from big time schools too... This isnt the past where a lot of the guys we get were lightly recruited by other P4 teams
