That’s so all 16 SEC teams are in. Goodbye conference championship games. Hello mandatory 10 p4 games.

It's coming, we knew it was coming. I will wait to see the actual format before casting stones.

Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle

i like that better.  the other bit is there's a boatload of dough involved to have your school out of contention by mid oct.

@thehoosierhuddle 19 at large, 4 P4 champs, 1 G6. First two rounds on campus. Quarters, semis, championship, neutral site like it is currently.

seeds 1-8 get first round bye then host second round on campus. This is what ESPN is reporting

I am all for it. Hope IU schedules 11 P4 games. I may be in the minority but no reason we should schedule like we have.

I liked 12.  Maybe 16.

#17-24 don’t need to be in a playoff.

I'm not a fan. But may as well hasten the decline of college football as I once knew it. Need to kill it completely I guess. Might as well be sooner rather than later. ESPN and Fox executives need to pay for their yachts.

I prefer each regular season game to have more impact not less.

Won't stop me from watching. I'm sure the playoff will be somewhat enjoyable. Once the first three loss team wins the title that will be SO EXCITING! WOW, the excitement will never end. Glory be if we could only get a four loss winner someday soon.

I just wonder what the 9-10 P4 teams that don't get in will do for a couple months? (I am projecting the next format, out a few years after this one.)

@openwheel How would we have less regular season games with meaning? Doesn't more teams with a chance until the very end mean we will have more teams with more meaningful games than less?

I'm less annoyed with it if for every added game, or stronger comp, harder hitting game they add to the schedule, the personal liability of the school administrators, and ESPN and Fox executives gets higher. Or becomes 'at all'.

Right now 15,16, 17 games, screw it, more the merrier, it is just a bottom line number. #### the kids and CTE and their futures. They knew what they were signing up for. And they get paid now, what's a little drooling or major depression earlier in life.

Structure needs to be the top 4 should have the ability to get that quarterfinal as a home game.

Eff playing LSU in the Sugar Bowl, Miami in the Orange, Texas School in the Cotton, Georgia in the Peach, UCLA or USC in the Rose.

@openwheel well that's a weird response and a weird post.  there clearly won't be personal liability on the part of any school administrators.  the schools/ncaa maybe but that's a complex deal that i'm not sure adding a few games will impact.  i dont discount the import of what you write.  but these are adults and i trust at this point the risk is known.  and yes you are correct the schools don't give a shit nor does the ncaa or nfl for that matter irrespective of their fake pr assertions to the contrary re cte

If the format is going to be the reported 23 at-larges and 1 G6, with ESPN owning all the games, it's an absolute abomination.

So make it you can lose 5 games to get in, if that's what you want.

If a team can lose 1 of 12, versus 3 of 12. How is each game more meaningful now? It isn't.

If we could lose 3 games, this Ohio State game wouldn't mean shit for the playoffs.

We'd be playing for pride or at most 'seed'. Pride, we'd be doing anyway if we could only have one loss and already had a couple.

But yes, 'more games' are meaningful as far as what fills the coffers of ESPN and Fox and the schools. So in that view, yeah, more meaningful games.
