@zeke4ahs eh a little, but not really. It is a bit concerning that IU lost a couple OL to UK and MSU.
I have to imagine its cost benefit value. If teams are willing to tie down their budget with developmental required talent vs. established talent via the portal. I surmised more would invest in the portal, clearly thats not quite there yet.
IU is going to have to go portal shopping for a few offensive lineman in January. Hopefully they won’t get outbid on those players.
Eh, hard to care about kids that prefer MSU or UK. Local kids aren’t automatically fits.
Also hard to worry about the portal given our success there.
Cig isn’t going to overpay for 17-18 year old offensive linemen.
Story on Bradley coming.
You’d think good players would want to come here but IU is whiffing all over the place. Is the money not there even after winning a title?

Yes, IU cannot get good players and the money is not there. Hopefully we can go 6-6 this year and make a bowl game.

Cignetti isn’t going to overpay for high school kids.

Then IU shouldn’t recruit high school players if they won’t pay fair market value. Cignetti can think players are overpaid, but the market is the market. He can’t change that.
