Anyone else feel like from the broadcast that Fernando's Mom was frustrated towards the end that Alberto didn't get it? A friend said he thought she looked frustrated and I was surprised to hear that.
Just my opinion -- I don't know how anyone could read Fernando's mother or what she was thinking. It could have just as easily been frustration over a referee call or something. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong.

He and I have discussed how it might be a delicate subject to try and keep Alberto happy and onboard with bringing in Hoover, so he was probably reading more into it because of that.
@kkott Yes, Cooper has a year of eligibility. While watching late in the game my wife blurted out while seeing the look on Mrs. Mendoza face: "Mike, she has the look of an upset mother that's not going to see her younger son play in the game." Perhaps my wife was correct. In regards to the receiver core if IU starts Becker, Marsh, and Preston they've got 3 excellent players on the field. I believe Tyler Morris, the Michigan player that was recruited last year will also be on the squad and should be able to help if he can come back from the injury that kept him out of action this year. In 2024 Morris was 3rd on the Michigan team with 23 catches. That Michigan passing game was so bad in 2024!
Weird they didn't put him in to hand off after doing so in the Rose Bowl. The lead was plenty big enough to get in for quite a few snaps.

Tyler Morris, the Michigan player Cig recruited in the 2024 portal could end up being a wild card in the IU receiving core if he returns. I know nothing about the the non-contact injury he sustained late March 2024 that kept him out of play this season but have zero doubt Cignetti is very aware of how well Morris is recuperating. Morris was an absolute beast as a high school player where he was the favorite target of JJ McCarthy who went on to QB Michigan and is now in the NFL. All the major recruiting agencies rated Morris a 4 star prospect and one of the top high school receivers in the country. Michigan beat out ND, Tennessee, and Penn State for Morris' services. In the 2024 season Morris was 2nd in team receiving yards with 248 yards in 13 games! (Colston Loveland was first with 582 yards.) That was one crappy passing team that threw for a whopping total of 1678 total yards or less tha 130 a game.
