@openwheel Grant Wilson is the backup QB. He's serviceable
I guess I didnt explain what I mean... I know we have other QBs on the roster.
But, if Cig kept Wilson, it does mean a little bit I guess. But even with all his maturity he didnt win the backup job last year. Lets just say somebody hopefully steps up. Seizes the job with no doubt.
@openwheel It's unknown because we have not seen Tyler Cherry in over a year. Wilson was a solid starter at ODU and ended up being beat out by Colton Joseph after an injury. We'd have the same concern if Alberto stayed. Talented, but a lot of unknowns.
Heading into spring ball it's Hoover, Wilson, Cherry. We'll keep an eye on if that changes.
I’m not worried about TE at all. If Cig is content with what he has I am too. The last two years have produced very solid players who I never heard of before. Riley Nowakowski last year and Zach Horton before that. I thought Holden Staes would be the starter prior to spring ball last year. I believe someone will step up and play the spot well. I won’t even venture a guess as to who it will be, but I feel confident in saying one of those young guys will develop into this role and will exceed our expectations. That’s the exciting thing about next year is knowing there are so many guys who will be big names who we wouldn’t anticipate right now.

It's possible they could get a grad transfer TE after spring practice, right? Perhaps the portal TE room wasn't that deep?
I could see a scenario where their attitude is "let's see how our young guys look in SP" first, and try to add a grad transfer TE if they are still concerned. Because I don't think Cig ever said he was content with the position after the portal closed.
