The Indiana Hoosiers have picked up their third commitment of June, seventh in the 2020, as three-star Michigan product Lemuel Neely-Watley decided to play his college football at Indiana University. Neely-Watley played both defensive back and wide receiver at Detroit’s Martin Luther King H.S. as a junior after playing just on offense as a sophomore at East English Village Prep. He was teammates at King with current IU commit Rashawn Williams. Neely-Watley stands at 5’11” and tips the scales at 170 pounds. He will likely play corner at IU. He chose Indiana over Big Ten foe Michigan State.

Allan Trieu of 247 Sports had a chance to watch Neely-Watley last fall when King played East St. Louis. He wrote that “East St. Louis only threw at Lemuel Neely-Watley sparingly in the first half. In the 2nd half, they tried his side more and the 2020 prospect came away with two interceptions. He played almost exclusively wide receiver at East English Village Prep a year ago, but showed corner skills at camps and workouts. He is a playmaker who exudes confidence and still catches the ball like a receiver.”

Neely-Watley was on campus in Bloomington this weekend. He announced his decision on Twitter Saturday evening saying:

First I’d like to thank God for my abilities, my family for believing in me throughout the process, coach Oden for guidance, and lastly I’d like to thank all the schools that have reached out and talked to me. Blessed to Announce That I’ll Be Committing to Indiana University #LEO

He held nine total offers including Indiana, Cinicinnati, Kentucky and Michigan State. His commitment bumps IU’s 2020 class ranking to 67th and holds at 11th in the Big Ten after it fell to 73rd nationally and 11th in the conference.
