Twenty days after dropping the axe on fall sports on August 11th, the Big Ten conference revealed how the conference’s presidents voted. It was 11-3 in favor of postponing reportedly with Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio State three votes to play. The information was listed in a brief that was filed by the Big Ten in response to a lawsuit brought against the conference by eight Nebraska players. The news was first reported by The Athletic.

Indiana University President Michael McRobbie announced the IU’s plans to resume instruction for the 2020-21 school year in a letter to the Indiana faculty, staff and students on Wednesday afternoon. The letter, posted below, details the plans to have students start in-person or online instruction on August 24th, with an end to in-person instruction on November 20th. There will be NO fall or spring breaks and all instruction will conclude on May 9th, 2021.

Indiana University has been actively monitoring the rapidly evolving novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and providing regular updates to the IU community as the situation changes. The health and safety of our IU community is our primary concern in this fluid situation, and we are taking decisions as warranted following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), along with state and county health departments.
