Head coach Kevin Wilson and Indiana University has announced Monday that redshirt freshman Kris Smith and incoming freshman Jermane Conyers will not be with the football program in 2014.

Conyers, a 2-star defensive end recruit out of Georgia, did not meet the academic stands and will enroll at a junior college. He was a member of the 2014 recruiting class. Smith, a safety from Georgia, redshirted in 2013 and has decided to pursue other opportunities. Smith did win scout team player of the week twice last season. Wilson said, “We thank Kris for his contributions. He leaves IU in good standing and we hope he finds success in the next phase of his career”.
