IU Dismisses Freshman Kiante Enis After He is Charged With Child Molestation

Indiana Hoosier freshman football player Kiante Enis has been dismissed from the program on Thursday afternoon after being arrested by police in Randolph County for child molestation according to an article written by Douglas Walker of The Star Press. Enis had yet to play a down for the Hoosiers and had not dressed for either of the team's first two games. Earlier in the week, when asked about Enis's availability, Wilson said, "he has a concussion protocol deal. I just saw him at lunch."

Indiana University released a statement saying:

"Indiana Football has dismissed freshman Kiante Enis from the program effective immediately."

Enis came to IU out of Winchester, Indiana and was a highly regarded recruit out of high school. He finished fifth in the Indiana Mr. Football Award race. He was originally committed to play at Michigan before changing his mind and signing with the Hoosiers. It was unclear whether or not he was going to redshirt this season.

While the Hoosiers have started the season 2-0 on the field there have been a slew of incidents off of it. Earlier this season, Freshman lineman Jerome Johnson was cited for underage drinking after being found passed out in a dormitory stairwell. While backup kicker, Aaron Del Grosso was arrested in the wee hours on Wednesday morning for criminal trespassing and public intoxication following an incident with his girlfriend over their dog. In June, Will Dawkins and Tim Gardner were also dismissed from the team.

Indiana will face Wake Forest at 3:30 on Saturday in Memorial Stadium.
