The 2020 season is still a ways out on the horizon, but it got just a little bit closer on Thursday afternoon as it was announced that the Hoosiers season opener at the Wisconsin Badgers was moved from Saturday, September 5th to the night of September 4th with an exact time to be determined. The Badgers have opened the last three seasons at home on Friday nights.

The Hoosiers last travelled to Madison, WI in 2013 and last played Wisconsin in football in 2017. The Hoosiers have not knocked off the Badgers since 2002 in Bloomington (32-29) and since 2001 at Camp Randall Stadium (63-32).

This will be the second time since 2017 (Ohio State) that the Hoosiers open the season with a conference opponent and the first time on the road since the Hoosiers opened the 1981 season at Northwestern. The Hoosiers and Badgers have opened the season twice before. Once in 1948 (Madison) and again in 1977 (Bloomington).

Indiana kicks off its home schedule the following weekend against Western Kentucky (Sept. 12), and will also welcome Ball State (Sept. 19), Maryland (Oct. 10), Michigan State (Oct. 24), Penn State (Oct. 31), Illinois (Nov. 14) and Purdue (Nov. 28) to Memorial Stadium.

Tickets for all home games are available by clicking here, by phone at 1-866-IUSPORTS or in person at the Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall Ticket Office.
