Indiana Seniors Nick Westbrook and Simon Stepaniak Accept Invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana fifth-year senior offensive right guard Simon Stepaniak and fifth-year senior wide receiver Nick Westbrook accepted invitations to the 95th East-West Shrine Bowl.
Stepaniak has started 21 of the last 22 games and 29 overall in his career. The 6-4, 321-pounder anchors an offensive line that has allowed just 15 sacks in 10 games, which shares the Big Ten lead and 28th nationally.
A team captain, Stepaniak ranked 43rd on Bruce Feldman's 2019 Freaks list. He benches 515 pounds, his hang clean max is 410 pounds and he has 41 reps on the 225-pound bench.
A two-time Biletnikoff Watch Lister, Westbrook became the ninth Hoosier to reach 2,000 yards and is one of seven with 125 receptions and 2,000 yards. He is seventh in program history with his 15 touchdowns, ninth with his 2,041 yards and two shy of the 10th spot with his 133 catches.
Westbrook, also a team captain, owns a team-leading six 100-yard games (T-7th IU history), including a 103-yard effort (3 receptions) in the season-opening Ball State win, and two multi-TD games. In 2019, he has 31 grabs for 387 yards (12.1 average) with four scores (T-1st on the team), including a team-long 75-yarder.
The game will be held on Jan. 18, 2020, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. EST and will air on NFL Network.
