IU Athletics Release

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana head football coach Curt Cignetti has announced the additions of assistant athletic director for player personnel Matt Wilson and director of football operations Blake Jackson to his first staff in Bloomington.

Wilson returns to the Hoosier staff after helping IU sign its third-highest-ranked recruiting class in program history during the 2018 cycle. He made stops at Mississippi State (2018-20), Arkansas State (2021-22), and NC State (2023). Four of his recruiting classes over the last six recruiting cycles have been ranked among the top-50 classes nationally on National Signing Day, with four of those ranked among the top-30 nationally by 247Sports.

He helped sign back-to-back top-25 classes while at MSU, which marked the first time in program history the Bulldogs inked consecutive top-25 recruiting classes. His first signing class at A-State finished tops in the Sun Belt and he pulled in the No. 28 recruiting class in his lone season with the Wolfpack.

Jackson spent two seasons at Arkansas State (2022-23) where he handled all aspects of team travel and oversaw the day-to-day operation, organization, and flow of the football program. He organized team events, managed team communications, and oversaw facility maintenance and scheduling for the Red Wolves.

He spent four seasons with his alma mater, Tennessee (2018-21), where he served as the operations graduate assistant for two seasons, followed by two years as the football operations coordinator. The Volunteers played in the 2020 Gator Bowl (2019 season) and the 2021 Music City Bowl during his time in Knoxville.
