Indiana announced that a pair of talented JUCO standouts, quarterback Richard Lagow and defensive back Jayme Thompson, have signed their National Letters of Intent and have joined the Hoosiers football program.

"We were limited to two mid-year spots in this recruiting cycle, and signing Richard and Jayme is a great opportunity for them and for our program," Kevin Wilson said. "They will get a chance to practice prior to our bowl trip and will be here on January 1. We are excited to get to work with them and pleased to welcome them to IU."

Lagow excelled at Cisco Community College, throwing for 2,285 yards with 21 touchdowns and 10 interceptions and completing 66 percent of his passes. He has been rated as the top-ranked pocket-passing JUCO quarterback by ESPN and committed to Indiana after considering offers from Colorado State and others.

Jayme Thompson committed to Indiana in July after transferring from Ohio State to Iowa Western Community College. Thompson, a 6'2" 195-pound safety, was a consensus four-star recruit coming out of Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio. He redshirted the 2013 season at Ohio State and then starred for two seasons at Iowa Western, leading the school to a national championship appearance and the 2015 Graphic Edge Bowl. Thompson is rated as the number two JUCO safety and the number 44 JUCO prospect overall by Rivals.

Richard Lagow is expected to compete for the starting quarterback job in the 2016 season and Jayme Thompson will be expected to compete for playing time in the secondary, an area the Hoosiers could certainly use the help in.
