Indiana has reached into neighboring Illinois to get their latest commitment for the 2018 recruiting class as the Hoosiers landed three-star tight end Matt Bjorson on Wednesday afternoon. Bjorson is the fourth commit in IU's 2018 class.

Bjorson, who announced his commitment on Twitter, was recently on campus for one of IU's recruiting camps. The 6-foot-3 225-pound prospect is out of Hinsdale Central H.S. in Hinsdale, Illinois. He earned All-Conference honors after helping lead his team to a 9-1 record. He made 24 catches for 325 yards and three touchdowns. Tight end is a position of need for the Hoosiers in the 2018 class as both Danny Friend and Ian Thomas are entering their final season in Bloomington.

Bjorson said on Twitter, "first off I want to thank everyone who has helped me get to where I am in life right now. My parents who have guided me as well as coaches and all the schools who have recruited me this far. My recruitment has come to an end, I am 100% committed to Indiana University!!!! #Breakthrough #LEO"

Scout.com's Allen Trieu wrote about Bjorson back in February saying, "6-foot-3, 225 pounds with athletic gifts and receiving skills which are rare among his peers." He has the ability to out jump and out run opponents and has good hands. He will need to add some weight if he wants to be a playmaker in the Big Ten, but his 6-foot-3 frame should allow him to do that,

Bjorson has seven other offers including ones from Kentucky, Northern Illinois, Central Michigan, Ball State, and Colorado State. You can watch his junior highlight tape here.
