The Indiana Hoosiers picked up a commitment from former Auburn running back Shaun Shivers from the transfer portal on Saturday. Shivers spent four years with the Tigers and played in 43 games.

Shivers was stuck behind two very good backs at Auburn. In 43 games he ran the ball 201 times for 1,020 yards and eight touchdowns. Shivers can also be a weapon in the passing game out of the backfield as he made 38 catches for 211 yards and another touchdown.

At five-foot-seven and 187 pounds, Shivers is a compact and powerful running back. He can run between the tackles, but would be best getting to the edges. Shivers also runs very hard with his compact frame. He could be ideal for screen game and seems like a great fit for Walt Bell’s offense.

Shivers originally signed with Auburn as part of the 2018 recruiting class. He was a four-star recruit out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Chaminade-Madonna Prep.

The Hoosiers need to rebuild the running back room after it was wiped out by graduation and transfers in 2021. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
