Former Indiana defensive tackle Jerome Johnson has signed with the Miami Dolphins according to Kevin Brockway of CHNI Indiana.

Johnson played in 45 games (29 starts) for the Hoosiers from 2017-2020. He posted 111 total tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and a fumble forced. Johnson was selected to the East-West Shrine Game after a 2020 season that saw him earn first-team All-Big Ten honors. He has consistently been IU’s best interior lineman over the last couple of seasons.

Johnson was listed by IU at six-foot-three and 304 pounds. He was the glue that held the Hoosiers defensive line together. Most scouts aren’t worried about Johnson’s physicality; however, they are worried about his athleticism and ability to disengage blockers. However, Johnson is eager for the chance to show off his skills.
