ESPN's College GameDay and FOX's Big Noon Kickoff Bring Spotlight to Bloomington

The Indiana football team sits at 7-0 (4-0), is ranked 13th in both national polls and has the attention of the national media. The Hoosiers hosted FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff pregame show last Saturday prior to Indiana’s 49-point win over Nebraska. This weekend ESPN’s College GameDay is coming to their city for the Hoosiers game against the Washington Huskies.

“ I think it's great exposure for the football program and the university. Now we got to do our part on Saturday. You guys all know the best way to do that is to have a great day today, great meeting, great walk-through, stack good days, which is what we have to do.” Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti said of the attention.

These pregame shows are not coming to Bloomington as a favor to IU. They are here because Indiana is taking college football by storm in 2024. They have won each game by 17 or more points and have not trailed for a single second this season.

“They're here for a reason: we're winning games, creating a lot of excitement. That adds to the excitement. Once again, we got to do our part.” Cignetti said.

After the Hoosiers win on Saturday Cignetti said he took notice of the crowd and is not surprised about the excitement.

“Keep winning, people are going to come. I felt confident it could happen here like that, too, because I'd done it at one other place that was very similar to this going in.” Cignetti said.

What is College GameDay Built by The Home Depot?

ESPN's College GameDay Built by The Home Depot is college football's premier pre-game show. The show travels to a different college campus or game site each week of the season from late August/early September through the College Football Playoff National Championship in January. The locations - usually announced a week in advance - are chosen by ESPN based on competitive matchups, rivalries and other factors.

How can I watch the live broadcast?

College GameDay airs at 9 AM ET - Noon ET on ESPN and ESPNU throughout the football season and is available for streaming through the ESPN App. ESPN's social and digital pre-pre-game show Countdown to College GameDay begins at 8:30 AM ET weekly and is available to watch on a number of social and streaming platforms, including the ESPN App.

How do I get selected to stand in the pit during the live broadcast?

Students and fans have the opportunity for up-close view of the show by standing in the pit immediately adjacent to the stage. Selection is on a first-come, first-serve basis for all fans. Students admitted to the pit are encouraged to wear school colors and should have a numbered wristband. Participants are subject to ESPN security procedures and policies.

What are the College GameDay sign regulations?

One of the most beloved traditions associated with College GameDay is the making of signs. No vulgar signs, .com, .net, .org, political or religious signs are allowed. For fans entering the pit, signs cannot be on poles or oversized. All signs brought to Saturday's taping will be inspected before entry and must abide by College GameDay's sign policies or will be removed.
