EA Sports Officially Announces New College Football Game and Memories Came Flooding Back
/Earlier this week EA Sports release a teaser trailer for a video game that every college football fan has been waiting a decade for. 2014 was the last version of the NCAA Football video game that was released due to lawsuits, but with the change in NIL laws, the game is back.
Every fan of a certain age has memories from the older games, so here are our writers favorites and what they are looking forward to.
T.J. Inman
I have very fond memories of spending time in my bedroom updating rosters, trying to find the fastest prospects that I could recruit and eventually building a juggernaut that could run the ball for 300+ yards every game. I have not played a college football video game in more than a decade and I now have kids of my own. I am really excited to share the college football video game experience with them.
I look forward to the fight songs and the uniform combinations and creating a schedule that makes no sense in reality but is really fun on my PS5 and creating a roster with as much speed as possible. Mostly though, I look forward to leading Curt Cignetti and Mike Shanahan's offense to a national title before moving on to a dynasty with a small school that I will lead to glory. The college football offseason is not going to be quite so long now!

The last time I played NCAA 14 was in my dorm room in McNutt. Nate Sudfeld was holding up National Championship Trophies, Shane Wynn was winning Biletnikoff Awards, and Tevin Coleman was a Heisman contender. Indiana was a powerhouse, regularly finishing in the top 5 and out-dueling Alabama for the best 5-star recruits in the country. It was truly a joy bringing Indiana to new heights in such a well made game. I am absolutely ecstatic to jump into it again!

There are so many memories involving this game from playing in the dorms rooms of Foster Martin in Bloomington to playing on-line dynasties with friends who are far away. My hope is that EA brings back the modes that made this franchise great. Working up from a G5 coordinator to P5 head coach was awesome. My absolute favorite mode was building IU into a dynasty and recruiting players to beat Ohio State and Michigan. I am really excited for this to come out this summer.
