We are speeding right along into the middle of June and have hit day number 86 in our Countdown to Kickoff. Today we profile to players, Chandler Miller and Joseph Gedeon.
Name: Chandler Miller
HT/WT: 6’3, 205 lbs.
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: Redshirt Junior
Hometown: Richmond, IN
Miller came to IU by way of Richmond High School where he finished out his senior season with 2,023 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns and was an all-state selection. Miller also garnered all-conference honors three times and letter in basketball and track in addition to football. Miller is an economics major at IU and has not seen any game time in his two years of service, but won scout team player of the week against Michigan last season.
Miller will go into fall camp with ground to make up to climb up the depth chart, as there is a plethora of talent freshman and sophomores in front of him. He recorded one catch for six yards in the spring game. Miller did drop a couple passes in the spring game, but if he can work on becoming a consistent pass catcher he may play his way into the rotation.
Name: Joseph Gedeon
HT/WT: 6’3, 195 lbs.
Year: Redshirt Freshman
Hometown: Columbus, Indiana
Gedeon joined the Hoosier football team as a walk-on during the 2014 season and redshirted. He was the kicker and punter for Columbus East and connected on 12 of his 15 field goals. He lettered in football and basketball for two years as well as basketball for four years in high school.
Gedeon will challenge incumbent punter Erich Toth for the starting job. He has a monster leg and averaged 50 yards on two punts in the spring game.
